Private Ice Cave
Once everyone is on our super jeep, we’ll head to Kötlujökull Glacier,
home to a new gorgeous natural ice cave. The journey from Vik to
Kötlujökull is an adventure in and of itself. En route, we’ll drive high
up into the mountains and admire glacial landscapes. You’ll feel as if
you’ve landed on another planet.
Our first stop is at the foot of Kötlujökull Glacier, an outlet glacier
of Mýrdalsjökull, Iceland’s fourth-largest glacier. You may find it
difficult to turn your eyes away from the majestic ice cap, but spare us
a moment. Your guide will give you a safety briefing and all the
necessary ice caving equipment (a helmet, a headlamp, and crampons).
Next, step into the glittering ice cave burrowed into the glacier.
Together with your guide, go deep inside the glacier to discover surreal
ice formations. Kötlujökull Glacier Ice Cave is a sight to behold.
Prepare to be surrounded by long ice walls filled with blue ice. Make
sure your camera is at the ready! Incredible ice structures are unlike
anything you’ve ever seen before.
Our new ice cave in Iceland is located close to the famous Katla
Volcano. This means that you’ll see volcanic ash from ancient explosions
trapped in the ice. Your guide will tell you all about the history of
the glacier and surrounding area.
Sometimes we find secret glacier waterfalls close to the cave. They form
as glacier water comes through holes in the ices. These elusive
cascades will leave you in awe of nature!
After your ice caving adventure, you’ll have memories to treasure for the rest of your life.
Discover a Hidden Black Sand Beach
Next, we’ll head to an off-the-beaten-path black sand beach. This beach
is a secret spot that travelers often miss — so you’ll have it all to
Once there, discover a wild and rugged landscape. The silver waves of
the ocean crash on the black shore. The contrast of dark sand and white
foaming waves is simply breathtaking. This hidden beach is what dreams
are made of. Enjoy the moment!
